Air Sealing and Air Barriers in the Uniform Construction Code
Description:
Pennsylvania’s prescriptive air leakage requirements have recently become more stringent, including a requirement to have the envelope tested. With this change, builders may have to modify their air sealing techniques to comply with the prescriptive air infiltration requirements. In this session we will identify general air sealing strategies and review code requirements for areas to be sealed. This discussion will also address blower door testing requirements as a means to demonstrate code compliance.
